BHUTAN – Socio Political Delegation – 2015

The Bhutan PM warmly received the Indian leaders-Shri Vijay jolly ,Ashok Garg,Vijay Mehta,Prof Geeta Singh and Social activist Kavita Ashok .

The delegation got an hour and twenty minutes audience with His Excellency Jigme Kesar Namgyal Wangchuk at the Palace .

The Indian Ambassador Gautam Bambawale invited us to the Indian embassy to share our thoughts and objectives .

An MOU was signed between RENEW ,an NGO chaired by the Queen mother herself and Delhi Study Group .Visits to the Royal Thimpu college ,Youth Development fund and Bhutan Chamber Of commerce were impressive .The delegation also met Women leaders and a dinner was hosted by the Foreign Secretary in their honour .

The Governor of Punakha hosted a lunch followed by a visit to the historical monastery ,dating back to the twelfth century .

A cultural evening was hosted by the Governor of Paro and Sonam Jatso,the secretary General of People’s Democratic Party .

A visit to the Tala dam in Chuka district gave an insight into Bhtan’s Hydro projects .

Finally the visit commenced with doing Yoga in the lawns of Druk hotel at Phenshuling on International Yoga Day ,the 21st of June 2015 .
