DSC05686Lions Club International celebrated UNO day at Chanakyapuri on 4th of November where 18 diplomats were felicitated with Lifetime achievement award for their unparalleled work and unceasing efforts for humanity and their nation.

The spirit of the event was very high as we cherished the fruits of our hard work .

Diplomats from Uganda,Kenya,Belarus,Mongolia,Turkey ,Palestine,Cape Verde,Estonia,Dominican Republic,Bolivia,Tovalu,Algeria,Qatar and Poland were amongst the ones who were honoured.
This was followed by high tea .

IMG_1344The Russian Embassy hosted the most fabulous and larger than life welcome party for 2014 !
Attended by the who is who of the city and the diplomatic circle,the evening was a treat with food ,wine ,music ,great guests , ambassadors and diplomats dressed in costumes .Some were beyond recognition !I still am guessing who it was under certain disguises !!

The South African embassy hosted a prayer meeting to pay tribute to Nelson mandela .It was with great regards that each speaker spoke about this great human being .Mr Faruqh Abdullah spoke beautiful words for him that Madiba belonged to the whole world and not just South Africa has lost an icon .The Ambassador and his whole family were present along with well wishers .Mr Vikramjit Singh Sawhney ,Kavita Ashok were among others who bid the leader a final farewell .The evening was conducted at the Springdales school,Dhaula Kuan and was hosted by the Mr Mark who shared his personal experiences with Madiba .

IMG_1204Ougoing Ambassador Salman Bashir and his beautiful wife Tarannum were given a farewell party at the pakistan High Commission .The evening saw many bigwigs of the Indian circuit enjoying Qawali by Rizwan and Muzzam Ali Khan . Mr.Ram Jethmalani,Hansraj Hans,Uma Vasudev ,Uma Sharma and Ratan Kaul were some elegantly dressed guests who added charm to the farewell .Mr Shashi Tharoor made a brief appearance too.

Few desrving Indians were fecilitated with Russian awards and titles . In the pictures are American ambassador ,Ratan Kaul,Kavita AShok,Nasir,Deepak,Promilla of Delhi diary and Dr Neeraj Sahini.Kavita Ashok soaking the magnificance of the dinner hall and the embassy lawns .
