An one on one with politicians and a few presentations by environmentalists, research scholars and activists in the field made the Town Hall at IIT an interesting afternoon .Haiyya ,an organization of youth along with Urja created this quenching of citizen’s thirst in respect to what is happening this election 2019 about environmental issues ?Who is answerable .Members from three political parties the BJP,Congress and AAP answered a volley of questions of the audience .It was a fiery interaction .
Questions were put across concerning thermal plant’s
toxic pollution effecting Okhla area ,air pollution levels in Delhi ,stubble burning and construction chaos .The odd even was also highlighted by the AAP member .
Environment activist Kavita Ashok’s said that we must vote only for the party which promises to show us what agenda they have for fighting air pollution and the concerning challenges . We need to check their work record in the past years to see if they genuinely show promise .Environment has been sidelined for long now ,she added ! She urged the citizens to work hand in hand with the government and step out and vote wisely .

While some countries in the West are welcoming people of other nations into their political arena ,we back home in India need to evaluate whether the current crop of leaders are truly the best or its time to open up to people who are pioneers and of true calibre ,into the political run !! A big question -do citizens with no political or party belonging have no right of admission to serve the nation even when they have the drive ,dedication and the set of skills ? Food for thought .
The National Foundation For communal Harmony in collaboration with National Commission Of Women organised a seminar at India Habitat centre on “Promoting Peace and Harmony-Social Exclusion Of Women Of Minority Communities-Challenges and Remedies’.
Shri D.R Kaarthikeyan,Padma Shri,was the chief guest who shared thoughtful insight on the occasion .
The inaugural session was inaugurated by Ambassador Ashok Sajjanhar and members of the NCW .
It was a thought provoking and brain storming seminar with selected participants and dignitories numbering around 90 only .
Participants from media,academia,scholars,thought leaders,educationists,business magnets,social activists,women entrepreneurs,etc contributed to the discussions and deliberations.
Ms Veena kohli,President,All India Women ‘s conference,Ms.Jayashree Acharya,prominent educationist and Kavita Ashok ,social activist and Central committee member Overseas Friends of BJP shared their insights and experiences.
To mark the very essence of justice for women in our country India and to understand the role of women in global peace and nonviolence NCW organised a seminar on 6th of March .
Th speakers included Brahmakumari Ashaji,the head of the Bahai community ,Mamta Sharma(chairperson NCW) ,Rakesh Sharma and social activist Kavita Ashok among few others .,
Social activist Kavita ashok teamed up with Art mantra and India World Foundation
to organise a four day art camp where artists from all over the nation painted their expression about women status and atrocities they face on their canvases!
Inaugrated by Union Minister Pradeep Jain the event kickstarted on 19th Dec .
A panel discussion was organised to close the event where stalwarts like Padamshri,padmabhushan Uma sharmaji ,Justice Sudha mishraji,Shamina shafiq and Hemlata Kheria from the National commission of Women and many more successful women shared their view about Justice for women .Ex Finance Minister of Punjab,Mr MP Singla put forth a fresh perspective to the status of women in India .
Media personalities,journalists and artists got together for this cause .
It was our initiative for social awareness about women status in modern India .Alcohn international school was generous to provide us with the venue .

My throat choked when Daminis parents were called on stage because no body can fathom their agony .Words cannot ever express enough condolences to them .
The South African Embassy and Women International Network brought alive the Universal humanity Awards .People serving the society in in their own way were awarded and appreciated .Minister Kapil Sibbal presided the function .The South African Ambassador ,Rekha Udit ,Akash Aggarwal and their team put together this event .Those awarded were Blossom Koccahr ,Kavita Ashok,Shivani Wazir ,Sumita Dass ,Jeetender from Sri Arts ,Kids from a social service unit and artists .I was supported by family ,Neeraj Maharshi,Roshni and Suhani Ashok .
International Youth day was celebrated by college students with a play focusing rape and violation of human rights .Some speakers put forth their point while the auditorium was filled with students listening and actively participating .I just added that how we can turn around this issue by changing the mindset and attitude of the people and specially the youth .
Artist and Income tax Commissoner Sangeeta Gupta put forth her art for raising funds for the Uttarkhand victims.This noble deed was supported by none other than the former President Dr Kalaam himself .Also seen were Keshav Malik,Neena Gulati,Kavita Ashok ,Prateek Chaudhary,Neeraj Gupta,Mopasha Gupta and other art lovers and artists .This was supported by ICCR and concluded with a soft musical presentation .
